Across the Hissar Range

A short drive west of Dushanbe leads to the valley of the Khanaka river flowing south from the Hissar Range. At the head of this valley lies Shamal, a beautiful location for relaxing amidst unspoiled countryside or letting a horse take the strain while you explore the landscape – see under ‘Bicycles, Horses and Rafts’.

This is also the jumping off point for a 5 day trek across the Hissar Range which leads to Iskanderkul in the heart of the Fann Mountains. See below.
